As the cost of a college education continues to rise and traditional funding sources get harder to find, Lake Trust Credit Union is proud to welcome back financial aid expert Melissa Hunt, a college financial aid specialist with over 20 years experience in the financial services industry, in November for two informative no-cost seminars.
- Monday, November 8 - 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Grand Haven High School located at 17001 Ferris Street, Room 0165.
- Tuesday, November 9 - 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Lake Trust’s DeWitt Branch located at 12750 Escanaba Drive.
Melissa will share solid advice ranging from completing the FAFSA to applying for grants and scholarships. Hunt will discuss a variety of student financial aid topics, including scholarships, grants, federal student loans, and private student loans. She’ll also share practical advice on the frequently confusing application process. Hunt has been a featured speaker across the United States and has helped thousands of families maximize free and low-cost sources of financial aid while providing much-needed education on the role of private student loans in filling funding gaps.
Audiences of parents and students (particularly juniors and seniors) have consistently given Hunt outstanding marks. So join us for this practical seminar and get a head start on college planning.
“In these challenging economic times, it’s more important than ever for students and families to fully understand their financial aid options and plan accordingly,” says Hunt.
“By maximizing no- and low-cost financial aid, choosing student loans carefully, and developing proper money management skills, it’s still possible for students to leave college with a bright financial future.”
The seminars are free, but seating is limited. To register, visit laketrust.org/seminars or call 888.267.7171. Light refreshments will be served.
