First Half Funding for Professional Development Award Granted
Lake Trust Credit Union is committed to supporting financial education and college access efforts in Michigan schools.
We are pleased to announce that we have awarded three winners for the first half funding of our Professional Development Award Program.
The Lake Trust Credit Union Professional Development Award Program was established in 2010 and provides financial assistance to Michigan educators for out of classroom/school professional development opportunities such as workshops, association conferences, and training.
Awards are granted during the school year, and our first half winners are Paige Patterson, who is a Guidance Counselor at Portland High School and attended the Michigan School Counselor Association Conference, Lynn Hoerauf, a 5th - 8th grade Guidance Counselor at Farwell Middle School, who attended the Art Therapy for Grief and Loss Conference and Mackenzie Sheahan, an Elementary School Teacher at Shepherd Elementary. Mackenzie will be attending Singapore Math: Strategies That Work in Every Classroom.
The Professional Development Award Program provides a resource for today’s educators to continue enhancing their teaching skills, while supporting their students’ financial and career goals to achieve a bright and exciting future in Michigan.
“Thank you, Lake Trust Credit Union, for supporting educators and kids through these professional development scholarships,” said Lynn Hoerauf. “I really appreciate the opportunity to attend this professional development conference! I have wanted to go to this conference for a long time.”
